phil stanbridge
Are they used against armour or fortifications and men or both?? and how are they deployed in the game? ie. do you have to be on the target to use them, or can they be lobbed much like standard grenades. I've not seen any used yet. I imagine they have a similar impact to satchel charges yeah?
K_Tiger
One man will start (you cant the this detail in the game) to run to the tank and deploy the grenadebundle on the rear engine deck of a tank. I think it works in the range of 20-30 meters...depends on the quality of your troops.
phil stanbridge
Ok I was wondering whether that would be the case. I seem to remember these things being used in Close Combat 3 too thinking about it..
MikeyD
The 'deployment' of grenade bundles and sachel charges in the game is a bit of an abstraction, like 3 men representing a 9 man squad. In the game you see the grenade bundle get tossed. This doesn't mean it REALLY got tossed... maybe one of the squad members sprinted to the tank and placed the bundle over the engine grate. Awfully hard to animate that though. Though the grenade bundle and sachel charges are supposed to be anti-tank and anti-bunker weapons I've seen infantry in a pinch use them during close-in firefights. Sachel charges pack quite a kick!
