Eric Alkema
A flexible MG is mounted outside the armor, so it won't be used if the vehicle is buttoned up. Related to that - an MG can be a big help in suppressing or killing an AT team, but only if you use it.
Eric Alkema
Don't be afraid to abandon your plan. Hardly new advice, I just had it illustrated to me what can happen if you fail to follow it. ------------------ If all else fails, panic!
Gen-x87
I suck, that is all there is too it I need to figure something out and fast. I got smacked so hard last night it isnt even funny. Just when I I thought I was starting to get better also! Somehow 1 german platoon tore through 3 of my British platoons. I couldnt believe it when my guys were just getting waxed and then started running. I mean they outnumbered them 3:1 you would think that on odds alone they should have been at a stand still! I think the German platoon had about 6 casualties and I had about 40. I think German field guns are damn good! At this point I am more confused than when I started playing this game. jasoncawley@ameritech.net
Gen-x87 - more details please. Terrain each was in? Ranges? Quality of your men? Other fire they may have been under, e.g. field guns? It is hard to say what was going on without such details.

If so, read the firepower tables. There are several threads on the issue, what to do when facing SMG squads with rifle squads. I think German field guns are damn good! Especially the infantry guns. From my testing, CMBO seems to model different shrapnel characteristics of shells. The infantry guns are more effective against infantry in foxholes (and probably other cover) than their blast value indicates.
