Franko
Adapted from Advanced Squad Leader, Scenario 23. Here is the text..its avaiable at the CombatHQ scenario depot: UNDER THE NOEL TREES CHAMPS, BELGIUM, 25 December 1944 Adapted from Advanced Squad Leader Scenario 23 by Frank M. Radoslovich Frankrad@pacbell.net (When playing against a computer opponent, it is recommended that you allow the computer to set up freely) Christmas Day found the American garrison at Bastogne surrounded. The Germans marked the holiday with an assault on the hitherto quiet northwestern perimeter -- with Bastogn as their goal. Spearheaded by Kampfgruppe Maucke of the 15th Panzergrenadier Division, the attack pushed off at 3:00 a.m. They pierced the line of the 327th Glider Infantry Regiment and proceeded eastward, while farther to the north Grenadier Regiment 77 of the 26th Volksgrenadier Division broke into Champs and engaged Company A, 502nd Parachute Infantry. In response to the battle at Champs, Companies B and C of the 502nd were ordered to positions east of the village. Kampfgruppe Maucke split up at dawn, with the smaller element moving north to bypass Champs where it encountered and destroyed two U.S. tank destroyers at a cost of two tanks. It then unknowlingly advanced and collided with additional U.S. forces. VICTORY CONDITIONS: The German player must exit as much of his forces as possible off of the East edge of the battle area. WEATHER: Ground Snow with Rain TIME: Dawn Its small, quick, and dirty. HAVE FUN!

Keith
Not to rain on your parade, but I noticed that the CM CD came with a scenario of the same battle. I think it is called "Christmas Day" or something. It really is a challenging scenario. How does your scenario differ?
Franko
I think you are thinking of "One Long Cold Day", which came with the game. Different battle entirely.
RudeLover
I think that Merry Christmas at Hemroulle (on the CD) is from another part of this day's fighting; the German attackers split their force, with one portion going to Hemroulle and one moving north to participate in this scenario.
