SGT Casey
Hmmmm... I went to start up CMBO this morning to play my PBEM turn and get it off in the email and I can't get into the game at all. It starts up, I hear the music playing, and then returns to the desktop. The game is still running and I can click on the taskbar to go back in, but it jumps right back out to the desktop. To end the program, I have to use the Ctrl-Alt-Del keys and end task there. I've made no changes to the computer (that I can think of anyway) and this is the first time I've seen this happen. Anyone else have this problem? Bruno Weiss
Now that "is" strange. Any possibility you might have accidentally installed CMBB to the same CMBO directory? Just a wild guess.
SGT Casey
No, I've only got CMBO. Now I did install the newest version of Norton's SystemWorks 2003 and Norton's Internet Security 2003 this weekend. That could be it I suppose. I'll have to uninstall that stuff later this week and see what happens. Dave
Bruno Weiss
Hmm, try replacing just the Combat Mission.exe file. Make sure you have the right version you had. Maybe it got corrupted somehow. It happens. Otherwise, all I can think of at the moment is if somehow your virtual memory got turned off, or is being limited. Take a look just to make sure.
BeWary
If you recently installed new software and now it's not working, you are correct to suspect the new software. Instead of uninstalling try just disabling it and see if CMBO runs. BeWary
SGT Casey
Well, I did disable the new software (Norton's SystemWorks 2003 and Norton's Internet Security 2003) and it still didn't work. So, I uninstalled NIS2003 and it seems to be working fine now. I'll reinstall that software to see if it doesn't work again and let you guys know. I have *no* idea why it would do what it's doing. I'll leave that to the programmers. Dave
