walpurgis nacht
How is it that, for example, a captured PanzerIVF, with a 75mm gun, is able to be used by the Russians that did not have this type of gun. Did the Russians set up special factories to produce shells for captured equipment? I don't think so. But since I'm sure this game is accurate, would someone explain how this worked to me? Thanks, j
Renaud
My first guess would be that if they captured the tanks and guns they probably captured stocks of ammunition and spares as well. Probably not that hard to modify existing factory machinery to produce/load other ammo if necessary. I get the idea that captured ordnance was rare enough that is was simply used and then discarded when it broke down or ran out of ammo. demoss
I can't comment on that specific case, but I'm pretty sure the Germans manufactured their own ammo for the Russian 76.2mm gun. I'm also pretty sure it was better than the original ammo used.
