The problem is you can't get a Small or Medium map if you also want to play a decent size points game. The map size scales somehow to the points choosen. If you have a large-point game, even the "small" map is going to seem big. You could search out battle maps (maps with no units) on sites like www.derkessel.de or combat mission scenario depot at http://www.dragonlair.net/combatmission/ to find maps that fit your needs.
