Warren Peace
I'm running CMBB on windows XP dell inspiron 8100 geforce2 GO. Game runs fine, but when I go back to the desktop and then go back to the game the screen is black, but the game is clearly on (sounds). Any ideas? Schrullenhaft
Which driver version do you have loaded ? The latest version I can find for the Go series is 40.72, however those may have FSAA problems. I'd suggest installing the 30.87 drivers for Win2K/XP (Videocard Drivers > NVIDIA detonator drivers > second page), which I believe should work for the Go family. What are your FSAA settings and are you using a 'tweaker' program for your video card ? Does the screen remain black even if you move your mouse around or Alt-Tab out and back again ? How long do you wait for the 3D screen to come back ?
Warren Peace
I tried downloading and installing the drivers you suggested, but its still a no go. I do not have a tweaker program. Basically the program runs fine, but if I hit alt-tab to return to the desktop when I return to CMBB the screen is entirely black except for the mouse pointer which is visible and responds to the touch-pad. I've waited as long as 10 minutes but the CMBB battle never appears. If I hit alt-tab again I get to the desktop and the picture returns. How do I tweak FSAA? I can't find the control panel with the drivers I installed. Warren
Schrullenhaft
I don't know if FSAA would affect what you're seeing, but you can mess with the settings anyway. Go to Control Panel > Display control panel (with Classic settings) > Settings tab > Advanced... button > GeForce2 GO tab > Additional Properties... button > 3D Antialiasing Settings tab. Here you can set your FSAA settings. The default is usually 'Allow applications to control the antialiasing settings' which usually means FSAA is off. You can manually force it or turn it off. You can also check your DirectX settings here, but I'm not sure what would make the difference here. What version of the drivers do you have installed now. If you installed the 30.87's what did you have installed prior to that ?
