pad152
I have tried the following; 1. Read the troubleshooting guide. (no - help) 2. Re-enabled Auto-Detect on the both CD Drives, rebooted. (no - help) 3. Verified drivers, system tells me I have the latest drivers, re-installed drivers anyway. (no -help) 4. Changed the spin-up time from 30 secs to 16 mins. (no -help) Both Windows Explorer and Dos show no files on the CD. Dos says the disk is full but show no files. Volume in drive E is CD Volume Serial Number is 0005-6DC5 Directory of E:\ File not found 0 bytes free Running Win98 SE
brooktrout
Try downloading ISOBUSTER and take a look at the CD to see if you can see any files. http://www.smart-projects.net/ If you can see any files on the CD in this program you might be able to extract them. Worth a try.
Schrullenhaft
What version do you have, the CDV (retail) or BFC (internet) version ? The CDV version uses SafeDisc as the copy protection mechanism. This could cause problems with some CD/DVD drives in reading the disc, but rarely should this problem be so severe that it can't read the 'table-of-contents'. The SafeDisc format contains 'intentionally' badly written sectors as a means of defeating CD copying programs. Most drives should be able to read them, but on occasion there are problems. The BFC version has no such copy protection. Do you know if your CD drives have the latest firmware ? Most CD-only drives won't have a flashable ROM, but some do. If your drives are CD-R/CD-RW, then they may have updates available from the manufacturer.
