yarmaluk
Something weird happened while I was playing against the AI the other night. I was playing one of the DFDR scenarios as Allies. Everything was going great. Knocked out a bunch of Mark IVs with my Shermans through a stunning combination of bold command, brilliant tactics, and a hell of a lot of good luck. I panned over to see the remaining Axis armor. There was one veteran Mark IV left, right behind a knocked out Mark IV. I panned back to my side of the map to finish off the battle. I never knokced out the last Mark IV, but I did have four or five Shermans picked off. At the end of the game, I looked at the remaining Mark IV again. It had moved ~30-40 meters, and appeared to have pushed the knocked out Mark IV ahead of itself for cover! So my questions are: 1) Can the AI do that? 2) How can I do that? and 3) Hey ... is that gamey?
Bad Monkey!
Vehicles, dead or no, provide no cover in either LOS or LOF. The only reason the AI pushed it was because it was in the way. As to losing your Shermans... that's what you get for ignoring an operational tank.

I guess I was surprised enough by the AI pushing a tank to forget that. As for the Shermans, that's all part of the fun ...
Jussi Köhler
Originally posted by Bad Monkey!: Vehicles, dead or no, provide no cover in either LOS or LOF. True, except when the vehicle, usually a Sherman, has been barbecued... Then the smoke produces LOS cover...
Michael Emrys
Vehicles, if they are big and powerful enough, will push other vehicles out of their way if it's the only way to reach their destination. Example: the dead vehicle is blocking a road through impassible terrain. Michael
