***********SPOILER*********************

Play it a couple of times. As the Germans, you have to sit back a little and wait for the Amis to come to you. If you try and engage them without cover, you will get creamed. Let them come to you, you WILL see a difference.

Playing as the Amis, if you beat them horribly...give the Germans +25% or +50% then see how bad you beat them up. wink.gif

I love this scenario and have played it several times on both sides. The main lesson to be learned from this is the concept of "Lanchestering". The idea is that you want more of your guys on fewer of his guys. The one who effectively executes this wins.

The German begins with 4 full platoons and is later reinforced with an additional couple squads and support. They are outnumbered by the Americans in armor, but concentration can be overcome.

I would recommend fast moving three platoons across the open ground to the minor objective in the deep woods to your right. This would allow you to establish a firebase there early. Plant your Panzerschreks on the reverse slope and dare the Shermans to come at you.

Secure the left flank with a couple machineguns and some shreks. The Stugs in the valley will prevent infantry from easily advancing to the church.

Once you have established your firebase, hunt your armor forward along the hill line. The Shermans can't flank you because of the shreks on the hill and trees. Head on, you will be able to engage the Shermans piecemeal.

Once you take out three of the Shermans (with two remaining) use the Stugs to support the infantry on your right into the major objective in the two story building.

After that, it is just a matter of turning the flank and rolling the Yankee bastages back into the sea.

The way i do it with the axis is first secure one tank BEHIND the church and hide it. Then place youre other two tanks somewhere on the right side in scattered trees. Hide some of youre troops in the woods, for they will come in handy later. Now you can stand to lose two but NOT three of youre stugs. The stug behind the church is esential. Any tanks that pass by that stug are gonna be wasted. Now it depends if you are lucky. Keep the stug behind the church and most likely it will not die. Once all the tanks have been taken care of. Advance youre troops and secure the left flank with youre remaining stugs. Then it will be easy from then on!
