About all they did for me was cause the Shermans to button up - which isn't necessarily a bad thing! Just curious if someone has found a different use for them... Guest T-Mo Posted June 21, 2000 Share Posted June 21, 2000 Mannheim, My tip for using Sharpshooters is to fire them at Unbuttoned Tank Commanders and HQ Platoons. Chances are you will kill the TC and cause the tank to button up -- decreasing their effectiveness. Shooting at HQs which usually have less men - between 4-6 can make their casualties more severe vs shooting at a 10-12 man squad. I used them against the TC's in the lead tanks, but then the sharpshooters got wiped out by the follow-on tanks before I could engage anyone else. Maybe they were too far forward. Doug Beman Posted June 21, 2000 Share Posted June 21, 2000 I think BTS has said that the best thing to do with these guys is let them choose their own targets and their own time; they know best when a shot is worth it and when it isn't. Also, make sure there's nothing around them to attract fire; the sharpshooter may be hidden, but if an SMG squad 30m away is getting ripped by 20mm FlaK, the sharpshooter is going to hug dirt.
