Question on Russian SP Guns

Different chassis. One was based on the KV-1 chassis, the other was based on the IS-2 tank hull. I believe the USU-152 had a taller superstructure, probably to compensate for the shallower hull. And late model ISU-152s have that nifty heavy mg on the roof, too.

The ISU could also fire indirect fire (not that there are any known instances of that happenening, but sombody in the design office probably thought it was a good idea smile.gif ).
