Eden Smallwood
Just to be sure, I'd like to ask- there's nothing my Pioneers can do to *detect* a minefield, other than walking on it and getting blown up, right? Certainly I would expect to see some mention in the manual where it talks about clearing them and whatnot, so the implication is strong that we just can't do it, but otoh, it seems like sometimes I will "know" that there's an AP minefield over there but noone's stepped on it yet. Perhaps there are different kinds, some visible, some not...? Eden
JonS
Eden, pretty much any vodka or schapps swilling, half-blind, conscript can see daisychain AT mines from halfway across the largest map. On the other hand, elite engineers, with years of specialist training are completely unable to spot either buried AT or buried AP mines unless one of them blows up in their face. Not true, they don't show up for me.
Sabrewolf
mines are hard to spot for a good reason

Hmm. Anyway, yes, I'm hip to the daisy ones- just slow you down. I mean, I've already stepped on one, and I have reason to believe that there are a bunch more around. I can't just avoid all the copses, that's my only cover. Do I split a squad and tell that team to Take A Hike?? That seems kinda cruel... Eden
Soddball
Cruel but necessary. It's like being put on point or getting to go on a patrol to capture prisoners. Just imagine your pixellated soldiers tossing dice to see who gets to stay behind with the booze and chocolate cake.
