MikeyD
I spotted this on another forum and thought I'd share. Here's a rare photo that shows an old Churchill MkI CS in Italy. One thing you might miss, you can just make out the split hatches of a PzIII commander's cupola over the commander's station! acording to the article six Churchills were so equipped. The photo here is of a CS Churchill (3 inch how. in the bow) on her day of retirement, Sept 22, 1944 One interesting line in the article said on of the cuopla'd CS Churchills mounted TWO 3 inchers - one in the hull and one in the turret - and no 2 pdr anti-tank weapon! ...now that I think of it, the barrel end of the turret gun in this picture doesn't look much like a 2 pdr. I'm just going to have to start playing more Churchill scenarios in CMAK. Elmar Bijlsma
Hey, pretty cool. Thanks for posting, MikeyD. Never heard of them. It really shows true Grogdom is unattainable with such vehicles botched together in the field. Just for the record though, you meant 3 inch howitzers, right?
