Lee_DiSantis
I have an IBM thinkpad laptop, and every time I try to begin a battle, it freezes on the screen that says 'loading 3-d graphics'. however, when i restart my computer, it always works. what is the deal? it's annoying to have to turn off my comp and turn it on again just to play.
Kevin Kinscherf
In the Tech Forum it helps to exactly specify your system. Processor and speed Hard drive and size Video card etc. Given that info these guys can track down and solve problems quickly. Or you may get a solution from others in the forum with a like system. - Kevin
Lee_DiSantis
You know, I don't really know much about that technical stuff... I believe my processor is somewhere in the range of a Pentium II 500 Megaglugelz or whatever, and as far as the video card and HD go, I don't have a clue.
Malakovski
First step is to make sure DirectX and your video drivers are the latest. This sounds very much like a DirectX/driver issue. Going to windowsupdate.microsoft.com is probably the easiest way to update DX. Your laptop manufacturer should be able to provide current video drivers. The original drivers on a 500 MHz machine are going to be totally out of date now, so if you haven't updated since you bought it, that is almost certain the issue, or at least the first issue you need to deal with.
Schrullenhaft
That's definitely a weird issue; turning off your computer allows you to play CMBB. As others have said this is probably a video driver/DirectX issue. You can help us by telling us the exact IBM laptop model you have (machine type codes and everything). This can usually be found on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop. With this info data can be found on IBM's website to suggest updates, etc.
