Krazy Canuck
Having played CMBB now for the full year I'm considering upgrading either my CPU(P4 1.6 toP4 2.4) or my vid card(MSI G3 Ti200w/128MB to G4 Ti4200). Which will give me the most bang for my buck for playing CM? I'm thinking it's the CPU, but then again I have difficulty useing my new cell phone, which I hate BTW. FTR, I'm not interested in playing Half-Life or any of the more demanding games. Thanks in advance for any replies
Blanar
Krazy, While your mileage may vary, I got quite a boost from the CPU upgrade. I've got an old Voodoo5 card and have never had any real complaints with framerates. But upgrading from an AMD 800mhz to an AMD 1.2ghz, made that blue line during calculation phase of each turn move significantly faster. If your not having framerate problems my vote would be for the CPU. Carl

easytarget
i'd 2nd that opinion if this is just about CM performance, i'm pretty sure that CM pegs cpu utilization at 100% so speeding up that part of the system would give you the most bang for the buck the graphics just aren't that demanding - at least not when compared to games like hl2 or d3 for example

SuperBadAssSweetDaddyMayhugh
When i first recieved CMBB, i had a 1.2 gig processor and a 16Mb vid card. It was unbearable slow, felt like playing in slow motion. I went out and bought a 64 MB vid card, no problems now. Works great.
