GreenAsJade
Well, it's not contours, nor is it proper "rocky tiles", but I have posted at CMMODS a couple of Mods that help me find my way in the spate of Arid scenarios I've been playing recently. GaJ_High_Contrast_Arid_Open is yet another Mod with the range of dark to light increased from lower to higher tiles. GaJ_High_Contrast_Arid_Rocks is a Mod with darkened "rock" doodads. This helps somewhat with seeing Rocky terrain. It's worth noting that for some reason the Rocky terrain stands out even better at camera angles 3 & 4 with these new Rocks if you are panning the screen. (Go Figure). There's an optional complementary Arid "Rough" with the horizontal rock markings darkened to match the new rock doodads. I'm not too pleased with the screenies I posted, so I'm not reproducing them here ... somehow both Mods look better live than in screenshots. IMHO. GreenAsJade
I managed to improve the pictures, so here they are, FWIW... The rocks: The open terrain... for some reason the top picture (with the Mod in place) is fuzzy (darn) but I think you can see that the scenario is much more hilly than the unmodded image below implies... Michael Emrys
The rocks definitely look better and I approve of the higher contrast. It might be nice if we could get rid of the "checkerboard" effect, but I guess that will have to wait on smaller terrain cells or something. Nice job, GaJ! I believe I will pick this one up.
