Znarf
Just a thought that came into being after reading about others attempting to modify a scenario I designed to be played against the AI into a two-player version: Has there ever been discussion of "open source" scenarios - e.g., a set of scenarios - one against the AI, one for 2-player, etc., not necessarily the same, that is released to the community, and then periodically "updated" by incorporating suggestions or modifications from players? One possible way of doing this would be to have an "Official version" hosted by a user that is tournament saved, and an "unoffical version" that is open for modification - when you download the scenario, you get both the official and unoffical version. The unoffical version could be modified by players, then submitted to a host team for incorporation or rejection into the official version. Think this would be feasible? Think it would result in the ultimate scenario?
junk2drive
i think it is a good idea. what about a "the proving grounds" version for changing and a "the scenario depot" version for locked?
GJK
Yes - happens every day at The Proving Grounds. Now, are you talking about a scenario that is "passed around" and everyone throws in their ideas - or suggestions are made and you (the author) makes the final decisions and modifications? If the latter, then yeah, upload it to TPG and we'll play, discuss and suggest with your own discussion thread on the scenario design forum. If you want others to make changes, you could create a "community" account at TPG, upload the scenario and then give everyone (or select few) the username/password so that it could be shared.
