James Crowley
Since the mechanics for CMBB and CMAK are essentially the same and this is likely to be the most viewed forum at this time, I thought I would post my query here. According to the manual, when you import a saved game map (via the final auto save) you are given the choice of also importing the surviving troops. I'm not finding that that this is happening; all I'm getting is the original map sans damage. What am I doing wrong?
Moon
You can only import troops from pre-made scenarios or from battles which are FINISHED (i.e. saved from the AAR screen). Games in progress do not import troops. This is done to prevent cheating IIRC. This is clarified in the CMAK manual. Martin
James Crowley
Moon Thanks for the quick reply. I realised that you could only import from finished battles (from the AAR screen) and that is what I have been trying to do, without success. Bizarrely, just after posting I had another attempt and, hey presto, the "do you want to import troops" screen popped-up, for the first time. Enboldened, I tried to do a repeat performance but no pop-up screen after three more go's. Could this be a problem with my machine or a random bug?
Moon
Odd. Send me the file you're trying to import to martin@battlefront.com I just noticed that you mentioned above that you get the map without damage? Are you sure you're loading the save game and not the original scenario file or something? The damage should remain when you load a map.

James Crowley
This is a bit embarrassing. Now both of the files I was trying to import, with troops, have sucessfully been transferred. And yet I did nothing different  Best put it down to age; if my brain was a horse you'd take it out and put it out of it's misery.
