Hans
O-genki desu ka? What would be the proper title for a noble Japanese officer, ie a cousin of the house of the Emperor, be during WWII? ie, Prince 2nd Lieutenant Hinado Shimabukuro? or 2nd Lieutenant Prince Hinado Shimabukuro? or something else? Kampai! Dono ariqato gozaimasu
Japanzer
Hi, Hans I'm fine. And you? WW2's Japanese news did seldom say a noble man's name with his military rank. Usually the news said "xxxx denka (Prince xxxx)" and didn't say his rank. So, in my opinion, it would be suitable the expression that prince + name + [,] + rank. (example:http://www.combinedfleet.com/Fuso.html) I think the comma which separetes name and rank makes special feeling marginally.
Hans
e, okagesamade Onegai shimasu Do you have any information on the final defense of the 14th Tank Regiment in Luzon Philippines? Do you have any Japanese sources on the Slim river fight in Malaysia?
Hans
One other question can you confirm the type of tanks that landed at Lingayen Gulf in December 1941? As part of the Lingayen force made up of the 4th and 7th Tank Regiments: As far as I can tell they were a mix of Type 95 Kyo-go [Ha-go] Type 97 Shinhoto Chi-Ha Type 1 Chi-He Is this correct?
Japanzer
14th Tank Regiment fought against British Army in Burma front, and didn't in Luzon. Type 1 Chi-He didn't come to Lingayen campaign 1941-42. Taki's Homepage has good English resource about Imperial Japanese Army. It's recommended!
junk2drive
hi friends, good to see you both in the forum. with the new map converter now available, the pacific battles from the cmbo pacific mod can be converted to cmak. is/was there a standard for making pacific maps when these battles were made? it looks to me that open ground 1550-1554 map level 0-4 were sand, wheat was modded for shallow water, etc. i'm willing to work on the bmps if pacific fans want a mod. most cmak maps would have to be height converted as people use the default level 7. any help or thoughts?

Sorry j2d I don't know anything about the previous PTO scenarios. Japanzer
Hi, junk2drive CMBO's grain tile was changed for shore terrain. CMBO doen't have shallow ford terrain tile, in which Landing Vehicles can move slowly. CMAK deals with sand by overall parameters, not by terrain tile. It may be no problem that default level 7 is used.
Hans
Japanzer Thanks for reminding me of Taki's site. Do you have any more Japanese language sites on Malaysia, Burma, DEI or Philippines 41-42?
Japanzer
Even in Japanese langage, I've seen a few site for CM scenario making. Following pages write about each campaign. Japanzer
I've not seen a mini scale pacific map suitable for CM on the internet. Such a map may be in military books only. Is there any Allied side's source? If you need such maps, shall I look for them when I go to library next?
Hans
Japanzer, I have found some from the Allied side both on the net and in books. Just trying to balance the tide.
