We don't know what the angle distribution of the "curved" rating is and whether it is the same distribution for different "curved" vehicles.

And we don't have a way to figure it out reliably either, no matter how much testing. That's the whole point of this part of the discussion.

As another poster said, StuG IIIG mid late or late against a Jagdpanzer IV could do as they both have 80mm curved.

However there are other differences as well, the Jagdpanzer is a superstructure vehicle in CM (three values for front) as opposed to a hull-only vehicles that the StuG is (two values for front). A tester would have to manually count only hits on the actually curved.

Of course, BFC might know this. [/QB]

BFC (in another thread dealing with curves), have already stated words to the effect that not all curve modifiers are created equal.

JagdPanzer

___/ =8cm curved superstructure

/ =8cm at 45deg upper hull

Hit at around 1000m by 8,5cm APBC on the curved supertructure, shatter. (JagdPanther is has similar results versus 8,5cm APBC).

StuG G Late

/ =8cm curved upper hull

Hits at around 1000m will result in knocked out or non damaging penatrations.

I asked Charles about the Hetzer and he had this to say:

>>

The Hetzer has a small curved gun mantlet, that's all. The upper front hull is NOT curved.

<<

This means that only hits to the Gun Mantlet are treated as impacting a curved surface.

My guess is that the same applies to the Jadgpanther since it too has a curved mantlet.
