MPK
After 3.75 years of playing CM, I've finally discovered Cmmods (I know, I'm really slow- witted)and am having a lot of fun tinkering with the game's appearance. Much appreciation for all the hard work, people: Great Stuff... Just grabbed neat Telogreika jackets for my troops, and am wondering where the white smock snowsuits can be found (for my German friends as well) ??? As well, are there any Destroyed Vehicle Mods? e.g blown off turrets, colander appearance etc Perhaps there is a technical reason why this is impossible...if so, cest la guerre.
junk2drive
Andrew Fox's uniform mods usually contain option zips within the zip. i.e. in his German winter uniforms you will find white, splinter, anorak, etc.
MPK
Ah-ha! I get you. That's how it works. Thanks, Junk2Drive... I've seen your name there...it seems like different modders have their specialties? AndrewTF for infantry...is he aka Astrocat?
junk2drive
Back in the day, cmmods crashed and all was lost. Astrocat is a CM player who devoted his time to uploading as many mods as he could find to the new cmmods server. You may find Andrew's mods uploaded by Astrocat. And we thank them both
MPK
Yet more light dawns... What about the destroyed vehicles? Is it possible?
imported_no_one
There are no "destroyed vehicle" mods that I know of.I am not even sure if you can mod those aspects of the game. edit to add: Oh yeah, check out the sound mods! There is one for BB by NightCrawler that is very, very good.It is worth it for the plane and close combat sounds! One more thing(lol): Be a good boy and back-up those files. You'll be happy that you did,or you will regret it if you don't [ June 09, 2005, 08:56 PM: Message edited by: no_one ]
MPK
Far be it for me to open this ancient can of worms, but..(too late) That Close Combat game? years ago? it had burning wrecks that unexpectedly brewed up as your infantry walked by... I'd like to see that again. In the future.
MPK
"Be a good boy and back-up those files. You'll be happy that you did,or you will regret it if you dont" So true...I just Tarkus' Dark Steel Mod to my PBEM buddy, with the identical stern warning, repeated twice...we can't stress this enough, people
annihilate_this_week
ahh Close Combat, the game that got me into this game...i miss it, but the flat birds eye view grfx are just way to ****ty for my liking now. If CC3 had the 3d power of CMBB it would be THE ultimate game, plus i liked the AI and modeling in it better anyway...
MPK
I miss all the games I've played and enjoyed... but you can't go back...with the exception of "Larry Vales: Traffic Division" and "Larry Vales: Dead Girls Are Easy" which were and are such crude games that they are still playable today
MPK
BTW, Talk'scheap, I searched for Nightcrawler's sound mod at cmmods...no such a beast (no Nightcra- wler in the designer's list... Would be under another name? e.g Astrocat?

junk2drive
At cmmods in CMBB Nightcrawler's is under Astrocat, NC CMBB Sound Mod Under Captain Wacky is his sound mod which I found to be quite good. It comes with a mpeg to wav converter program.
