Tero Posted June 17, 2004 Share Posted June 17, 2004 The idea of the attacks during the 9th of June was to make the defending force commit its reserves prematurely and in the 10th of June they launched the offensive proper. Ilomantsi jatkosodassa This picture shows the goals of the Karelian and Leningrad fronts, the attainment of which in Soviet plans was supposed to result in Finnish unconditional surrender. Whoever it was that had laid the goals had to be totally out of touch with reality (Ilomantsi is the easternmost corner of Finland).
