Shmavis
I was just wondering why the Hetzer doesn't have a muzzle brake. There were other German AFVs with main guns of the same caliber at the same time that did. Was it late war material shortages, or just some exception made for the Czech chassis?
JasonC
Not a materials issue, they didn't want it. The gun is mounted quite low to the ground. A muzzle brake kicked up lots of dust and gave away the firing position.
Shmavis
Ah. That explains it. Thanks!
