BB
Hi Battlefront. Here is one more modest wish for CMAK. I think it would be realy great if you include balkan(former Yugoslavia) partisans in the game. You can use characteristics of russian partisans that are present in CMBB, and only add ability of "Human wave". Balkan Terrain is similar to Italian, so I come to conclusion that it is not hard task for your programers. Please
Michael Emrys
Probably have to wait for CM The Blitzkrieg Years for that one. It may or may not be the next release after the engine rewrite. Michael
Sergei
Why not just use Soviet partisans for the effect, you'll still get Germans and Italians to shoot at?
Hans
We should be able to create something workable for the Yugoslavians - I certainly want to do some Italian vs Greek slap dances. I remember dimly a clash when the Hungarians moved into Yugoslavia, something at a train station....and grogs out there with a better memory of that time and place?

Soviet partisans are no longer available later in the war and Yugoslavian partisans were fighting throughout the war. Also, Soviet partisans in game are poorly equipped. It would be better if we had some real Yugoslavian partisans. I would also like to see them in CMAK. North Africa, Italy, Sicily, Crete, Balkans – all of that is "South".
Sergei
I'm sure there's plenty of differences in TO&E, but if Hans can make Spanish Civil War scenarios using CMBB I don't think Yugo partisans are that hard either. A scenario isn't limited to using just the units of that time - you can first buy Germans a Jagdtiger, then change the year to 1941 and give it a platoon of Pz-I's as escorts. Also stuff from other OOB's from the same side. Requires some imagination, of course, and doesn't work in QB's.
Sergei
Btw. I also would have thought that they'd lump up all of the Mediterranean region to the same game, and the following one would have included Poland, Norway and France. I hope the invasion of Balkans (Operation Marita) is in the following installment, although then there's probably no late-war stuff as you've requested. But at least the game engine will be better! (Which is why I also wish that Winter War would be there as well, just for the T-28's...)

For reasons known only to themselves, but no doubt having to do with how much time they intended to commit to the project, BFC made the strategic (in a business sense) decision to omit the Balkans this time around. Hopefully we will get it some day. BTW, I think a nice package—kind of a mini-game if you will—would be all of the Balkans, including mainland Greece, Crete, the Aegean Islands with all the possible forces that conceivably might have been involved there (even the Turks?). But that could just be pie in the sky... Michael
