Archibald
Hubert, I would suggest re-naming two ports and a city in the UK in the next patch: Gillingham - Gillingham was not a naval base or even a major port in itself. The two major bases covering the Thames Estuary were Chatham and Sheerness. Of these, Chatham had the more extensive facilities including shipyards. http://www.worldnavalbase.org.uk/ for information. Firth of Forth - The only major naval port on the Firth of Forth was Rosyth. This was a major facility and also the HQ for the RN in the north of England and mainland Scotland. http://www.freeport-tech.com/WWII/017_britain/39_navy/rosyth.html gives details as of 3 Sep 39. Edinburgh - This is actually more in the location of Newcastle. Despite the fact that I live there, I have to admit that Edinburgh has never been a major industrial centre on a par with Newcastle. In 1939 the latter was a major shipbuilding and industrial centre. I'm sure many of the geordies on the forum would agree with me!
Carl G. E. von Mannerheim
I agree that there are some places on the map that could be renamed, or borders moved a bit. I like the idea of New castle.
