German air attacks Malta and italian battleships bombard the airfleet with heavy losses for Italy. 4 german airfleets (jets Lv0) try to destroy a fully entrenched UK airfleet (jets Lv1) near London through direct attacks without success. Norway attacked by german forces, Oslo corps destroyed but capital not taken. Allied reinforcements move into Oslo and Bergen. Vichy still alive. Vichy battleship destroyed in a last heroic battle. Axis approaching Algier. Germany has now the jet tech advantage: Lv2 against Lv1 (UK has 5 chits in jets). Alexandria, Beirut and Algier under heavy attacks, but still allied. Only 3 allied corps remaining around Algier, time to say goodbye... The first Barbarossa turn has seen German tanks breaking through to kill Russian tank in the first tank battle of the war. The 2 Odessa armies and the 2 Russian units in the Baltic states are the only front line units that Russia have time to pull back. The Russian air fleet near Riga was killed on the ground by direct assault from Luftwaffe. In the Mediterranean, Axis are heading towards lebanon. German air attack and destroy the US airfleet, operated to England. In the counterattack Germany also loose an airfleet, 2 others survive unfortunately... Germany has Lv4 long range now and they killed one army transport at Finland. Therefore the capital is not captured in the first turn, but all finish units heavily damaged. Terif Posted June 22, 2003 Share Posted June 22, 2003 March 8, 1942: Brest is now the central supply source of the Allied invasion force. 8 allied armies, 3 Hqs and a lot of corps in or around France now.. Axis reinforced Finland and sunk a russian cruiser. Without air support (jets Lv1 vs 3) it is now impossible for Russia to capture the capital. Axis are attaking the centre, trying to break through around the edges of the Russian swampslands. No action around Dnepr river. Allies are rushing towards Paris. Iraq and Greece under attack by Axis forces. Landing task force west of the capital reunited with russian main force. Helsinki surrounded. Germany has Lv1 antitank and some research in anti-air. Axis is slowly marching east in Russia. Italy attacks north from Iraq towards Kaukasus. Axis slowly gaining ground in the russian centre. Axis western defence line is now Holland-Paris-Bordeaux. Heavy fights in France for each hex. So far 4 hexes around Paris and 3 around Bordeaux conquered. Similar situation in Russia with changed sides. Alot free french units were saved from the fall of France and they sure make the difference. Situation is critical. Allies are advancing much quicker in the west than Axis do in the east. "Terif the Terrible" has delayed me so much before Barbarossa so I am behind schedule. US forces are at full strength now with 2 Hqs and 10 combat units in France. Axis losses increase exponential now... In the east, Axis conquered Kharkov. Russian forces retreat to the next defence line. In the north, russians are pushing forward to Riga. German airfleet reduced to strength 5 by army and corps. The first one (current front line) is a concave line from Low Countries down to Marseilles. The second line is from Denmark to Marseilles i.e the front line that will be used when Low Countries have fallen.
