IF ole' Hilter could have taken Brits he would have, He could not do it! Hubert, don't leave it so easy to take England. Come on man be a little practical here. L3

Have any evidence for this? I always thought Hitler would have been quite happy to have peace with the British.

And Hitler could have done Sealion if he wished to. Not because he couldn't. Didn't want to pay the price. Decided to to go to Moscow and fight his real ideological enemy instead.

The reason Hitler couldn't invade England was that it was never his goal to invade England.

He assumed that they would engotiate a peace after France fell, and he could then turn his energies to the real prize, Eastern Europe and the USSR.

Now, that was a choice that Hitler made, and by the time he realized that they were not going to role over so easily, it was too late to go build those landing ships and additional aircraft needed to secure the Channel for an invasion without tossing his plans for a '41 invasion of the USSR. Remeber that the BoB was a relatively close thing, and could have been won by Germany with some different decision made.

Certainly SC should not force the German player to make those same decisions. If they wish to focus their energy on taking the UK, that should be possible, and it is. It just takes a considerable expenditure of resources that would normally go towards preparing the Wehrmacht for Barbarossa.

true to that...he was even suprised when the brits didnt make peace with him after france fell

one reason that he didnt kill them at dunkirk was that he didnt want to upset the brits more than they all ready were

that being said.....

sealion would not have been easy at all and the "quick" solution of the german airsuperiority battle for britian reflects this...hitlers goal always was russia and all else was a prelude to that....i agree that sealion should be feasable but almost at the expense of barb.
