109 Gustav
They should add a new feature to this board too! One called "search." With it, you could find out about stuff that's already been discussed. Nifty, eh? For more info on Goliaths and why they aren't being included, http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/Forum1/HTML/002681.html Want to guess how I found this? ------------------ The Last Defense- Mods, scenarios, and more! MikeT
Yeah, I would love to have the Goliath in CM2. But I am not sure just how common they were nor in what circumstances they were used. Are they a tactical weapon used during the heat of battle or for mopping up operations? MikeT
armornut
I would guess mop up. I would not want to be messing around with one in a live fire-fight!

Michael Dorosh
I've read that doodlebugs initially caused some consternation, but Allied troops found they could be defeated by small arms fire. I don't believe they were used for tactical purposes ie blowing up enemy infantry or armour, but rather as another demolitions tool for German engineers. Dogface
there is a great sceen in the movie 'KANAL' about the last days of the resistance in the Warsaw Ghetto where the germans send one out and one of the Resistance fighters jumps behind the thing and hits the wires w/ an entrenching tool. 109 Gustav
They would be useful in a minefield or clearing booby-trapped obstacles. ------------------ The Last Defense- Mods, scenarios, and more!
