Kirill S.
Well, any gun crew can become panicking, broken or routed. But the crews abandon the guns only when the guns get damaged. Shoildn't they run the hell away when they are under fire?
The Commissar
Ive had many guns, while coming under heavy fire, staying put long enough to get rescued by my forces and thus remaining active. If gun crews turned tail whenever a conscript accidently let a bullet off in their general direction, guns would not display the same effectiveness they did in history. When a gun becomes routed or panicked, I always think of the commander in charge urging them to hold out for a little longer. Of course, at such a time a gun is ineffective, but if it is helped soon enough, it easily rallies. I think its programmed quite well at the moment. WWB
Just remember that 'abandoned' can also mean 'We bugged out after those tanks started lobbing 75mm shells with us, but good ol Helmut kept his head and grabbed the breach block on the way to the rear.'
