Guest AlfieE
I wondered if any one could help? A couple of years back a friend of mine mentioned there was a AFV / Tank Museum near Caen, Normandy, France. Anyone out there able to substantiate this rumour? Thanks in advance. ncounio
Well , the most famous tank museum in France is in Saumur (where is also the armoured force military school), but it is 400 km south of Caen on the Loire River. ------------------ Nicolas http://mapage.noos.fr/combatmission_nc "Deux intellectuels assis vont moins loin qu'une brute qui marche" Un Taxi Pour Tobrouk

Francesco
There are also lots of smaller museums all along Normandy's coastline. Almost any village has its Sherman or Churchill as monument of liberation...
Francesco
Caen has its museum of the war (not sure but there should be some tanks -of both sides-and other AFV in the museum...)

gunnergoz
Yes, there's a really nice museum there, privately owned and operated but full of genuine memorabilia and battlefield relics from both sides.
