massimorocca
My friends, using the CMMOS Churchill pack just released I found on the turrett's upper rear an american star. First I thinked to have made a mess as usual, but then looking at the Railroad tracks thread I saw the same star also on the Churchills here. If any could show me the way to post my image here (I've a save in my Paint clipboard) I'll put here for a collective checking. Thanks Massimo
Michael Emrys
At the time of Overlord and for some time afterward, all Allied vehicles carried the star as a recognition sign. It's the same as all tactical Allied aircraft carrying the alternating black and white stripes on the undersides of their wings and aft fuselage. It wasn't an exclusive national marking at that point. Michael
von Lucke
It was common for all Allied vehicles (whether American, Canadian, or British) to sport a star --- especially on an upper surface, so the fly-boys didn't pop them by mistake. The ones on the top of the turret of the Churchill are correct.
