Unlikely Heroes

Recommended Posts

Had an experience last night which surprised me. Fought a quick battle with Allies attacking (vs. AI), I played the Allies and bought, among other things, 2 x M4 Shermans. Plain Jane M4 smoke-em-if-you-hit-em Ronson type Shermans. Well, long story short, the ONLY vehicle to survive the encounter was one of the M4's. His final kill tally; 1 x 81mm mortar, 14 Infantry Casualties, 1 x Panther G, and 3 (yes, three) Tigers!

Sunuvabitch!

Can we say Silver Star anyone?

Anyone else have any stories to share?

Well, there was this one time...

I was fighting a reverse-hill defense and the enemy stormed a heckuva-lot of Shermans, Stuarts, and HT's w/ infantry support over the ridge. One of my 76mm AT's scored over 6 armored casualties and more then a dozen infantry casualties!

Not a very unlikely hero, but a hero none the less!

How about this, a Sherman 75 with _2_! King Tiger K.O.s biggrin.gif

Pic is trimmed a bit to fit, but you can see both knocked out KTs. Scenario was LaGleize, and I'll confess one of the KTs was bogged (but still firing). Both kills were flank shots at under 100 meters.

You go boy!

Here's an interesting picture on things going horribly wrong for Germans:

screenshot.jpg

Three of the vehicles were knocked out by two Greyhounds, the rest by the Shermans that are shown in background (the combat happened few turns earlier and the Shermans were further back then).

My losses: several rounds of ammunition.

Opponent's losses: 1 Stug-IV, 3 Stug-III, 1 Pz-IV, 1 Marder, and 1 halftrack.
