illo Posted April 30, 2001 Share Posted April 30, 2001 For some of these countries actual fighting against axis after late 1944 was minimal. For example. Most of german forces could leave finland quite freely before Allies noticed it and insisted finns to drive germans away in given deadline. Anyway, here hardly was any real war going on. More like fake war with germans pulling out and finns following and waving greetings from distance. Anyway, when Soviet union noticed this they insisted finnish to attack immediately. Some minor fights occurred and from that on germans laid minefields in their withdrawal routes and used burned ground tactics to slow down following Finns which didnt keep too much hurry.
