Bog
I've seen the fog and nightime effects in screenshots, but I don't get that on my game. And yes, I did try toggling fog/smoke effects, didn't work.
russellmz
i hate stating the "did u turn on the game type" question but did u choose night time in the scenario or quick battle? ------------------ russellmz, Self-Proclaimed Keeper for Life of the Sacred Unofficial FAQ. Bog
Why? Are nighttime and smoke graphics only supposed to appear in scenarios?

You're card has to be capable of transparency effects-- if you don't get transparent buildings and high quality smoke you can't get fog. ------------------ "If you can taste the difference between caviar on a cracker and ketchup on a Kit-Kat while blindfolded, you have not had enough aquavit to be ready for lutefisk." Bog
I tried the weather effects. That didn't work. And yeah, I can get high quality smoke and trans. buildings.
russellmz
what i meant was, are u playing scenarios that occur in the night and or fog? like snow for elsdorf(tiger tanks vs pershings) or fear in the fog(paratroopers in the fog) and night battle at pegasus bridge? to make really sure, you can make a quick battle and choose weather conditions... if not try looking at bmps 1400-14?? and see if u actually have a night sky. ------------------ russellmz, Self-Proclaimed Keeper for Life of the Sacred Unofficial FAQ. Bog
I tried playing Fear in the Fog. I didn't get any fog. And yes, I get a night sky, but I don't get any transparency effects for night.
Maximus
For starters, what kind of video card do you have? Second of all, there are no special nightime effects, just a night skyline and of course the game engine darkens the hue of everything, as it does for overcast and morning scenarios. If you can see transparent buildings and smoke. But can't see Fog, you probably just have the Fog Emulation Table turned off on your video card. Go to your Display properties and click through the settings under D3D settings and somewhere there should be an option that says something like Fog Emulation Table. Turn it on. Bog
How do I find out what video card i have? And what are the D3D settings?
Gremlin
You find out your card by checking your computer documentation and/or carefully opening up your case and looking at it (don't touch anything if you're not sure what you're doing.) To check your D3D settings (on a Windows PC), try right-clicking the desktop, selecting properties, and then the Advanced button under the settings tab. It varies with your card and drivers. ------------------ New to Combat Mission? Visit CM Boot Camp at Combat Missions for tips.
