GreenAsJade
It has been suggested that a "good thing" for a Mod Manager application would be if it was able to load the Mods that suit a given scenario. This is easy in principle. The tricky question is "how does it know what Mods you want for the scenario?" One could conceive of Scenario designers specifying a list of "recommended mods" for their scenario. But there are two problems with this: 1) More work for scenario designers 2) Specifying a Mod. Mods come in all shapes and sizes and can be found anywhere. How do you say "Use the alternate turret markings from 'winter.zip' inside the 'JoesGroovyTanks.zip' mod that is stored on CMHQ"? This to me sounds like "nice idea, sorry no thanks". OR A Mod Manager could let you (the player) tell it "I have this scenario 'ToTheVolga.cme' and I want these Mods attached to it, so I can load them whenever I go to play To The Volga". THAT is eminently doable. Is it attractive to anyone though? Thanks, GaJ.
