BRAND NEW PLAYER: Just a few questions!

Recommended Posts

1- Are there any mods to simulate damaged tanks? When a tank gets hit, there is no physical indication that it is knocked out, unless it brews up of course.

2- Are there any mods to minimize those big LOS lines?

3- Any mods to minimize the waypoint blocks?

Thanks!~

1) Nope. There are no dynamic textures in the game. Since MOST textures are in themselves modable, it would be impossible to make each new mod dynamic as you say.

Besides, BTS gave visual cues for knocked out vehicles rather than damaged textures. Things such as lop-side turrets, slumped guns, broken suspension, and of course the brewed effect.

2) Yes. Right here.

3) Nope. Waypoint blocks are hard-coded among several other things as well.

There are some good mods out there of damaged tanks (shell hits, missing skirts, etc.) and convincing-looking battered buildings but they're all just for looks. They don't effect gameplay. A tank with a good camou job is just as easy for the AI to spot as a tank without, in the same way a building mod showing no doors is no harder to enter than a mod showing six doors!

As to mods for waypoint blocks, these are some of the few objects that are hard-wired into the game. You cannot touch the waypoint blocks, piats and bazookas, muzzle flashes, tracers, mortar rounds, and one or two other objects I can't recall at the moment.
