Four Stringer
Hola! I found a website which has some cool wav files of .50cal, vickers mg, etc. I'm pretty sure they've been extracted from Close Combat II or III. Anyway, they are in 8-bit stereo format, and from what I've gatherd from my search, these files need to be in 16-bit mono for CM purposes. Can anyone reccomend a freeware/shareware program which I can use to make these format conversions? I've never played around w/audio formatting before, so please excuse my ignorance. Thanks in advance, Mike A.

Compassion
I like Gold Wave... Been using it for years. INterface if more useable to me than Cooledit, the other free / share ware sound editor. Try either one at tucows or download.com.
