line of sight question

Recommended Posts

HEllo,

I am new to CM. WHen I click on one of my troops and enemy units are in sight, a line may be drawn from my unit to the enemy unit.

I see these are of varying color.

what are all the colors and what do they represent ?

thank you,

Lets see....

BLUE line: clear LOS (Line Of Sight), light blue better LOS than dark.

RED/BLACK line: no LOS, with the black going from where LOS is broken to the target.

GREY line: unit laying smoke in target

ORANGE line: artillery spotter calling in a fire mission.

Those where the target lines (IIRC). You can also right-click on a unit to show the pop-up menu. The color on the menu items is the color shown on the line for that order.

Hope this helps.

To add a few more:

Maroon (whine red) - Within LOS but outside the field of fire. Noted by bunkers, pillboxes and hull mounted guns.

Since Hawk also pointed out the IF lines, here are those for DF:

Yellow - Marked unit is being shot at by the enemy.

Red - Marked unit targets this. If the line if "fat" the opponent shoots back.

Cheers

Olle
