Quetzalquoitl
Hi Guys, I just bought tacops yesterday and after the tutorial I played at Task Force Frolik for the best part of last night / todays morning... GREAT game Major, though for a civilian like me who gets all his experience from tom clancy novels its much to learn I wondered if there is anyone around who might be willing to play a scenario or two with a total beginner like me?! Total humiliation (for my part) is guaranteed Cheers, Arno
tiger_2650
Along the same lines I am likely to purchase TacOps within the next couple of days. Is there a ladder or list of members somewhere who are interested in play, either over the internet or PBEM. Incidentally, I'm in Australia.
MajorH TacOps Developer
Ladder play never really took off for TacOps. Don't know why. Could be partly my fault as I have never personally pushed/encouraged it - mainly because I have no personal experience in ladder or tournament game play.
tiger_2650
I should have expressed myself more clearly. I was really referring to a register of players interested in human opponents. Perhaps detailing location/timezone and preferred play method.
dhuffjr
Posting here is a good place. There is a ladder on the SZO site that includes TacOps, it is lumped into the "Modern Military Simulations" category. Hope that helps.
Agent Smith
Hey Tiger, I'm a long time newbie, and in Aus. (Melbourne). Interested in a pbem that uses those amazing non-solitaire maps. and be careful...the fact that newbies have reappeared here has been mentioned in the hardcore mailing lists. So the sharks are circling, They're looking for blood! welcome aboard, game is brilliant. very absorbing!
tiger_2650
G'day Smithy <G> (psychological warfare begins), Long time Newbie? I don't like my chances but hey ... gotta start somewhere. If you want to send me an e-mail tigebrown@yahoo.com.au with a map selection of your choosing we can see how long I last <G>. Look forward to hearing from you.
Agent Smith
Tiger, sorry for not getting back to you earlier. Melbourne winter, and family colds have slowed me down a little. I'm still a newbie at this game for 2 reasons. a) I've been playing Schwerpunkt's AGW lately, so Tacops went back to Game 'B'. (It will never leave my H.D. game is awesome!) The pbem opposition are scary 'hard-core' gamers and (ex)military types, that take no pity. So my Tacops experience is tweaking Umpire tools and playing solo. But as I sais, I'd love to try a capture the flag scenario on a map base other than the standard 1st 16. So if you are interested just post up a reply. regards A.S.
tiger_2650
Smithy, Yes I'm interested. You'll have to lead me through setting up the custom scenario though. I know how it is with kids and colds ... we're having similar issues with our two. Tiger
gibsonm
Hi, Happy to help (as any Sydneysider would for a poor downtrodden Melbournian). Drop me an email at gibsonm@bigpond.net.au. Happy to play / teach / learn - not “crucify virgins” Also have some topo maps of Qld (as opposed to the ones that ship with TacOps).

Jan Boen
Hello all, I'm interested in gaming against other newbies. I live in Belgium (Europe) so tile zones may be a challenge. I'm a Belgian Reseve Officer (Captain-Commandant, something between a Captain and Major). Cheers
