buddy
Anyone know the best kind of quick battle (meeting engagement, probe, etc) to play in order to get roughly equal points for both parties in a pbem game? Seems like one or the other seems to have more points to play with. I haven't a clue and would appreciate any comments. Thanks in advance.
Grobdeutschland
I always thought meeting engagements were an equal point affair & the other battles, probe, attack, etc...give the defender the points displayed & x's that # using a formula for the other player. It's in the book under QB's. ------------------ "Far better it is To dare mighty things... Then to take rank with Those poor, timid spirits Who know neither Victory nor defeat." Lord Dreaman
In a meeting engagement both sides get an equal number of points. There that should solve your problem. Have fun gaming.
Croda
It often appears that the German side has more points, but this is due more to the point-values for the units being less. By and large, an Axis commander can field more HTs/AFVs than an Allied commander with equal points. This is also because German squads are typically 9 man squads, and thus are cheaper, but appear to be have the same # of men when on the field. ------------------ WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! jdmorse
Trouble is if in the QB the computer picks you might not have all your points spent. You can always pick your own forces and squeeze out an extra unit or two. But yes, with meeting engagements the potential points are the same
Pvt.Tom
It looks like when you set up a Meeting Engagement - Combined Arms with the Beta Patch the Allies are allowed to spend more of their points on Armor and Artillery than the Axis, does anyone know why this is? Is it to reflect the historical fact that the Allies had more tanks and Artillery than the Axis?
