Guest Bad Ju Ju
Can anyone recommend books (or web sites) with an expansive treatment on the nuts and bolts of combined arms tactics suitable for application to CM and WWII? CM is the first game I've played where the old tried and true "gamey" tactics don't work and, although I'm learning each game, I am also inspired to, as Emerill would say, "kick it up a notch." Thanks.
Buckeye
I highly recommend Michael Doubler's "Closing with the Enemy." I'm not a grog, or even close, but it has very clear and useful information about US combined arms tactics in WWII. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!" Redleg
FM 7-8 The Infantry Rifle Platoon and Squad and FM 7-10 The Infantry Rifle Company. The basics are the same even if the weapons have changed. There is a .MIL web site with FM's from WWI to Vietnam(?). In any case it has WWII FM's in it, including 'Know your enemy' type books about the German Army. Good site, and I will post a link when I get back to work, unless anyone else is aware of the site and can give a link. I will be back to work 5 Jul. Jaakko Harlas
You could also take a look at the Tank Platoon Field Manual, FM 17-15. You'll find it at http://www.adtdl.army.mil/cgi-bin/atdl.dll/fm/17-15/cont.htm
