kump
The game is exactly what we all thought it would be. No surprise. The sad thing is that they were able to use the "Squad Leader" name on the box to generate sales. Wonder what suit came up with that deal? The game won't be a success, but it sure will generate some extra sales due to the title alone. Its a real shame. A real shame. Others will get hyped about it, buy it, junk it, get on line and flame it, trash it, feel victimized by it, gets recommended to CM by someone sympathetic, buys CM, play it, love it, become addicted to it, begs for CM2 and completely forgets about that thing that had a "Squad Leader" title on it. I've worked too hard today. Need to get off this forum and go play the real computer SL.... GriffinCheng+
To risk myself of being sued, I rip a paragraph of his quick review here:
quote:
The vehicle animations are extremely poor, and now even Wargamers can be shallow since they have Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord. While this game plays very differently than Squad Leader, you'll be much happier spending your dough here.

Go figure the other parts will be -- if you have time. Now back to work / CM... Griffin. ------------------ "+" is just the beginning. Bruno Weiss
A sign of the times. What's at the movies now? New versions of old movies. In some cases, a 3rd or 4th rendition. Or the ever popular attempt to sell you yet another copy of the an old movie you already own, by trying to convince you the new makeover has DIGITAL SOUND, and never before seen segments. We tend to live in a time when the walnut shell game has never before seen so much popularity. BTS on the otherhand, has achieved success by demonstrating a willingness, if not basic philosophy of operating completely counter to this trend. BTS used original ideas, thought outside the box, communicated with their clients, used the ideas and suggestions of their customers, maintained good customer relations, and has for all appearances has swept the field of competition away. Perhaps the high level business executives learned and wise in the ways of the walnut shell will take note, and if we are fortunate, begin to copy cat BTS.
