Mr. Clark
Just wondering exactly what a muzzle brake is/does? Is it like a flash suppressor or silencer? Thanks!
Valdor
Muzzle brakes reduce recoil (the muzzle brake on an M109 howitzer reduces the recoil some 40-45%). Exiting propellant gasses strike the muzzle brake thus reducing recoil. Most (but not all) muzzle brakes also attempt to reduce the firing signature by directing gasses to the sides and away from the ground (throws up less dust and dirt.) ------------------ A66 1st MRB
