massimorocca
Question and sorry if this had had answer before. It's possible tow an 88 with the Sdkfz 7 that was, I think, the mover? I ask because in the "To the last man" scenario I can't load it in any way, neither seen the move/embark command in the 88, nor moving the Sdkfz near, over, under tehe gun
apex
88s can't embark during battle. They can be towed though, but they have to be under tow at the end of the setup phase and wherever you put that gun down, it will stay. Very annoying, once had the Sdkfz 7 crew bail out from some long range MG fire, leaving the a PaK43 in the middle of an open field ... apex
Manx
I would guess that its all down to the time frame inwhich CM engagements are fought. The 88 would have to be limbered, hooked up to the transport, taken to another location and then unlimbered again. Not an easy job i would imagine. Anyone know how long it would have taken to setup an 88 in WWII? ------------------ COMBAT MISSIONS - CM News, Supplies & Resources WWW.COMBATMISSIONS.CO.UK
gaffertape
In the briefing in one of the CD scenarios (not mentioned for fear of a spolier) they mention that a vehicle will be available should you need to move the 88. However, as stated above, it can't be limbered during battle. GAFF
CaSCa
Can the 88 be fired while limbered in CM? As I recall it could do so in real life.
Olle Petersson
No, in CM it can't be fired while limbered. Cheers Olle
massimorocca
Thanks friends. I can't figure it because in the deploy phase I was able to move the 88 via the usual order screen, and I thinked that the Sd7 was here to allow a run out during scenario. CaSCa
Thanks Olle. 'Tis a shame you can't though, think of the fun you could have.
Douglas Rudd
According to this site, it could be re-mounted in a minute: http://www.achtungpanzer.com/88mm.htm Doug
