curious about non-brewing Shermans

Recommended Posts

I've played the gold demo meeting engagement numerous times and those german SG III's are involved in "brew-ups" and catastrophic explosions most of the time they are hit, but the shermans even when hit in the turrent have not "brewed"

Is it because this sherman is modeled after a later model type that had wet storage for on-board ammo?

I was just curious as to the non-brewing results.....

Just pump a few more rounds into them---they'll brew-up eventually.

He may live to the age of retirement without seeing a battle; still, he must always be getting ready fot it exactly as if he knew the hour of the day it is to break upon him. And then, whether it come late or early, he must be willing to fight---he must fight!"

Hi,

If you open the information window for early Shermans, you'll see the phrase 'burns easily.' Any model with a W (eg M4A3(75)W as you see in Chance Encounter) has the wet storage you mentioned.

Yep. In fact I brewed up a "W" model last night in a PBEM game. So much for wet storage!

PS - love them Hetzers!
