Berlichtingen
Crap ammo. Flaking is when the armor on the inside of the tank flakes off.

Guest Big Time Software
Either I have forgotten some official word or "shattering" is it. Knowing engineers, there is BOUND to be some special word for this Steve
Mattias
I think “spalling” is what you are looking for, one of many nice names that pops up when talking about armour-projectile interaction A few other effects: Brittle fractures, punching (shearing or plugging), radial fractures, ductile hole growth, petaling Great conversation subject on parties by the way M. Fionn
Nah, spalling is the same as flaking.. Armour spalls and creates flakes... Its simply called "Shattering" or "Breaking up". I've never heard any other words used to describe a shell breaking up BUT engineers are bound to have them.. ------------------ ___________ Fionn Kelly Manager of Historical Research, The Gamers Net - Gaming for Gamers
Mattias
Misread the question I did I was thinking in terms of how armour reacts to a projectile. Not how the projectile reacts to armour. M.
