I hate Lt. Himmelweit

Recommended Posts

I hate Lt. Himmelweit, that lilly livered German 105mm Spotter that runs away the first time he get's a bullet wizzing past his helmet. I've played him in CE PBEM 3 times and not once has he had the backbone to call in artillary. I've had his CO almost lay down on top of him to keep him from running off. I've had his CO escort him at gun point back up to the front to call in artillary, and have him sit there with a ten minute lag time. Is there a way I can frag him, send him to the stockades or have him replaced by his sister? Is this a bug or are these cowardice personallity traits built into each unit?

I've found that if you let the enemy shoot at your arty spotters, they will do a poor job (also - Lt. Himm is Green IIRC). Your best bet is to keep him away from anyone shooting and escort him with a good company HQ. Also - if a spotter team takes a casualty the time to target goes WAY up. Keep both of them alive and it should be around two minutes.

"OK, Himmelweit, you're on point. I want you to run past the treeline, and secure that building with your Luger pistol. good luck." smile.gif

When it comes to a good old fashion arty strike, Lt. Dimwit is as useful as a third nut.

However, i found he is useful in smoking the approach routes to the Shermans. This allows my Stugs and shrecks to get into ambush position unobserved and wait for them to run thru the screen.
