Jasper
Ok - first the confession. I find WWII as interesting as any other war. There's it's out in the open. I saw one senario that talked about 'trench warfare' - but it didn't sound like it tried to simulate WWI. As I'm new to this CM crowd I was wondering if someone had already tried, and if there were any fatal flaws. Thanks.
Guest MantaRay
First flaw would be....trenches....since CM doesn't model them. Ray ------------------ When asked, "How many moves do you see ahead?", CAPABLANCA replied: "One move - the best one." New CM Site. In process of switching. chasd
the second flaw would be that cm dont model any units from ww1
Guest Michael emrys
Aside from improper spelling and grammar, and a lack of punctuation or capitalisation, chasd has it right. CM also (unless I've missed something) does not have any provisions for duplicating some of the tactics used during WW I. It is strictly a WW II game. Now of course, if the demand was sufficient and there wasn't something they were more interested in at the time, BTS might be persuaded to develop a WW I game after WW II has been dealt with to everybody's satisfaction (say in about five years). Jasper
The lack of trenches is fatal. Sorry for my ignorance. Waiting for Mr. Postman to bring me my recently purchased copy. Santa Clause failed me.

Shadow 1st Hussars
I made a World War 1 operation once. Vimy Ridge. It worked pretty well. THe only problem was the trenches. they had sloped sides, and were wide enough for a column of tanks. But as soon as you make it to the German trenches it gets pretty fun. scooleen
there is an excellent mod for myth www.bungie.net that featured a wwI map, models, and arty, including gas. it was hands down the funnest mod for any game, including cm.
Jasper
Shadow 1st Hussars: I'm interested in your operation. While I'm not in a position to do anything about it. (Honey, is that the doorbell!? No?) Is it something that you feel comfortable sharing once I get it?
