AR
When playing a QB, I prefer to play with as much tree coverage and short los as possible. However, I do not think the tree coverage is enough no matter how I set the parameters. There are groups of trees scattered all over the map, some tall pines, some heavy woods, but without covering a larger area. I would like to see "forests" covering larger areas where tanks can't reach my inf platoons. Perhaps that's the way the countryside looks like in CM's part of the world. I don't know. I'm from the northern part of Sweden myself so I'm used to real motherfu%¤%&/ng forests and not isolated groups of trees. So what do I want? Hmmm, I just want to know what you guys think. Should there be more parameters to choose from from? For example, "forest" or...? ------------------ It gets better each time as long as it's never with the same woman. AR
Splinty - I will do that. However, I also like to set up a fresh QB every night and I don't like it the way it is now. I want more trees and shorter los.
Guest Napoleon1944
I have some trees I modified to add undergrowth and brush I will be uploading to MadMatts site soon. I don't want my terrain to look like a golfcourse either!
Maj. Bosco
The amount of space between trees also depends on whether you're playing a town or rural or what. Try this: flattest map setting, hightest tree setting, lowest house setting. You'll get maybe one road, with the rest of the board, except for a few clearings, completely covered in tall pines and woods. I started a 3K game like that with a friend once. I got to place first and I couldn't beleive it. We called off the game. The only place we could put our armor and vehicles was on the one road. If you play with those carpet forest boards don't bother to buy any vehicles. Or tanks. Artillery is kinda spotty. No inf guns, 'cause you'll have no vehicles to move them. Machine guns are nice but kinda slow. Basically it's an infantry slug fest.
Guest JAZZA
Yeah, what maj bosco said,if you do a QB say using mod trees, you get more tree coverage if it's in a rural setting and the least if it's a town setting.
AR
Yes, I've tried that, but it is rather sad to always play rural and flat maps. Still, you have to run from cover to cover with your inf platoons. The groups of trees are rarely more than 100x30m, which in not enough to provide cover and concealment for a platoon. You are never able to maneuver in the tree covered areas. I always try to move in a straight line in the middle of the trees to avoid getting spotted, which I feel is rather silly. An example. I would like to play maps where, for example, the eastern part is a "forest" (no vehicles allowed ), a village or some houses in the western/middle part of the map and the rest of the map have groups of trees here and there. It would give you some options with your inf. Napoleon1944 - I'm not talking about graphics and btw, I like golf courses. ------------------ It gets better each time as long as it's never with the same woman. General_Petrovsky
If you're looking for shorter LOS try playing in the snow or heavy fog, you can't see jack $%@!
